WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE

VISION

We aren’t like everyone else because that’s the way we designed it.  We want to consistently build homes that look and feel, well…different.  Our team of architects understands what it means to own a Caliber Home, as do our employees and customers, from uniquely designed elevations to floor plans that just make better sense when you live in them.  We want to stand out from the crowd and have each of our customers proudly say they own a Caliber Home.

What’s the Difference
Caliber Homes is dedicated to redefining the home-building experience. We are raising the standard of home building by creating a customer-focused process, built on integrity, transparent communication, and exceptional execution on every home we build.  With more than 50 years of combined experience, Caliber Homes is breaking the glass ceiling by delivering a distinctive construction experience designed to capture the elegance of building a home for our customers. We examined all parts of a home to ensure our customers are truly getting the best value possible. As the saying goes: “The proof is in the pudding”!  Well, we’re happy to share just a few of the ingredients that make a difference in building with Caliber Homes:

Engineering / Inspections

It’s often said that without a good business plan, your chances of success after 5 years are very slim. The same also goes for a well-built home. This is rooted in the structural elements that ensure a long-lasting home is established before you ever break ground. Our team of engineers always starts with looking below the surface. We analyze the soil content for every home we build to ensure the foundation design matches what the soil will allow. They often account for the dramatic movement that takes place in high-expansive soil areas, like those in North Texas, to best ensure the longevity of your new home.

Inspections

You might have heard the term: “Make sure to inspect your expects”! That’s how it is in the homebuilding business. Your work is only as good as someone objectively looking to determine if it’s done correctly. We’re not engineers and we’ll never pretend to be. That’s why the licensed engineering partners who designed your foundation would be the ones to inspect it before it is poured. In addition to our pre-pour inspection, we also have inspections to review the frame construction, electrical, plumbing & HVAC are all installed correctly by a third-party licensed inspector before drywall. We also will inspect the home before closing for all component’s functionality to ensure they meet code requirements.

Framing / Zip Wall

ZIP Systems Wall Sheathing is designed to be durable and strong, with a Structural 1 rating that provides shear strength to meet high-wind-zone and seismic requirements. The sheathing is made from engineered wood and has a water-resistant barrier that’s integrated into the panel during manufacturing. When combined with ZIP System flashing tape or liquid flash, the sheathing creates a strong air barrier that can help protect against water intrusion. The sheathing also has a permeance level of 12–16 perms, which allows panels to dry out and breathe while still protecting against water.

Roofing

Atlas limited lifetime shingles are an excellent choice for roofing due to their high wind resistance, durability, and aesthetic appeal, providing a long-lasting and attractive finish. Paired with synthetic felt, which offers superior water resistance and tear strength compared to traditional roofing felt, they create a reliable barrier against the elements. Together, these products enhance the overall performance and longevity of the roof, making them a smart investment for homeowners

Doors / Trim

One of the often overlooked and commonly discarded items of quality in a new home are the doors and trim. We are not a builder willing to sacrifice the quality of a solid core door and solid wood trim in one of our houses. We have built these and lived with them over the years and the savings is not worth the money. The look, feel and durability of these two items will give you the confidence to live freely in your new home.

Cabinets - Quality and Durability

Custom cabinets are made by skilled craftsmen using high-quality materials, such as higher-grade wood, and can last up to 50 years. They’re built by hand, one at a time, using better techniques than stock cabinets. Each of our cabinets installed in “wet areas” is made of solid cabinet-grade plywood. In the event of a leak, we don’t want our customers to deal with the unpleasant experience of “ripping” out anything and living with the mess.

Precision craftsmanship

Custom cabinet makers pay close attention to detail and have expertise that’s hard to match.

Improved home value

Custom cabinets can significantly increase your home’s value because of their visual appeal and personalized benefits. Most homebuyers are willing to pay more for custom-made cabinets.

Fit your space

Custom cabinets are designed and built to fit your home perfectly, with accurate measuring and layout planning to avoid wasted space. This can be especially helpful in homes with limited space or rooms with unusual footprints.

Energy Efficiency

To designate a home to be energy efficient requires many things to work in harmony. It’s not just one of anything. A home is like a living breathing machine designed to be as good as the sum of all its parts. That’s why we ensure each of the main components that help create a low-cost energy efficient house are in place:

Windows

Each of our homes is equipped with windows that are certified as meeting ENERGY STAR® Ver. 6.0 program requirements. They are double pan, argon gas filled, and designed to work in conjunction with the other components of your home to make it as energy efficient as possible.

LED lighting throughout

Each of our homes is outfitted with low-energy consumption LED lighting fixtures and appliances. LED lights use up to 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs and can last up to 25 times longer. Making the annual cost of running them as low as possible.

Insulation

Each Caliber Home will undergo a complete full-encapsulation foam insulation process. Instead of using traditional fiberglass insulation methods which have been around for nearly 100 years, we wanted all of our customers to be comfortable in their new Caliber Home regardless of the weather outside. It is estimated that spray foam houses can be more than 40% more energy efficient than traditional fiberglass insulation. “Stay warm, or frosty, without regret” is our Motto!
